These Blues

So I wrote this yesterday laying outside on the trampoline, wrapped up in a sleeping bag. This is still the first draft - I feel like it needs more, but I wanted to post it anyway.

Today I realized 

that these eyes of mine

took too much sky in

They were once the color 

of a morning grey

now the afternoon blue is in

Can't seem to help

this wide-eyed curiosity

I don't mind taking color from the world I see

but what will it take from me

I wonder if I waited 

would tonight's sky bring

the reds and golden hues

I wonder if I looked 

too hard and long

would I lose these afternoon blues
